I. Eligible Applicants:
l Full-time Chinese teachers from accredited EU schools
l At least one year experience of teaching
l Under 60 and in good health
l Have an enthusiasm for Chinese teaching and a will to do the job for a long time
II. Time:
July 5th – August 1, 2009 (4 weeks)
III. Training Courses:
The institutes will be held in Chinese universities. The host universities will make their training plans according to the needs of the participants and their
teaching contexts at home.
IV. Expenses:
Hanban will cover the tuition fees, food and accommodation, and participants will be responsible for their own international flights and visa fees.
Accommodation standard: double-occupancy rooms at the host university during the Institute (from the registration day to the graduation day). Participants who want to upgrade their rooms will need to pay extra fees at their own expense.
V. Certificates:
Participants will receive a certificate awarded by Hanban pending successful completion of the Institute. Absence from class without leave for three times will result in no certificate.
VI. Application Process:
Interested applicants need to apply to the Education and Culture Office, Chinese Mission to the European Communities in November and December for the following year’s summer institutes.

VII. Application Materials:
l The Application Form for Overseas Chinese Teacher Training Program should be downloaded at www.chinamission.be and filled out
l An in-service certificate from the school authority
l A recommendation letter from the school principal
VIII. Admission
The Education and Culture Office, Chinese Mission to the European Communities will give a preliminary review to all the applications and then send the application materials as well as their suggestions to Hanban, who will give the final review. The Education and Culture Office will inform the applicants of the final result.
